I had over 8 credit cards, many maxed and have been on your program since. My records show I have just two cards left to pay with approx. $1806 of debt left. I have come a long way and it seems my last payment of $609 will be October 30, 2010! I can’t thank you guys/gals enough for getting the monthly interest rate dropped low enough so I may pay these cards off. After all, I charged on them and I feel better paying these companies back and still feel they made a nice profit interest wise to make money off me to boot. Avoided bankruptcy completely. It has been a long haul but light at the end of the tunnel is now brighter than ever. I recently finished paying off my Credit Card debt through your program, with the help and support of your credit counselors, and what a great feeling it is to have accomplished such a daunting task. FDM worked with my creditors to lower my monthly payment(s) and let me decide the time of the month to make my payment so that it was less stressful financially for me to achieve my goal of erasing my Credit Card Debt, not to mention the automatic payments from my checking account made it so there was no worry about making the payment on time. Your orginizatin provided me with the springboard to start getting back on my feet financially and let me turn my concern to my husband's health instead of burden of overwhelming debt that was piling up. As anyone who has gone through financial problems will attest to it is extremely stressful and you made it much easier to get a hold of things. Good Morning Heather, I've had a better nights sleep over the weekend just knowing I am taking steps to help myself to get through this very rough debt that my husband and I have incurred. There was a time when we both worked and just simply purchased any thing we wanted whenever we wanted and now that we are both retired with our savings depleted etc, our lives have just changed. I wasn't able to get a line of credit because I have to much debt and that would have allowed me to pay off my debt and help to make only one payment instead of five minimums that get me nowhere. I realize that closing all my credit cards is a hardship but it is the only way to keep our self healthy and with peace in our minds. We do not want to get sick with worry all the time. Sent: Friday, August 06, 2010 7:50 PM Dear Mr. Brazier, Early this week with a very nervous mindset, I made the call to Freedom Debt for some help. Here I am, an Elementary School teacher in Ct. and I am in a credit card mess! My husband Frank had gotten very sick a few years ago and the bills just started piling up. I had gotten worse and worse and I knew I had to take charge and make the call. On the other end of the phone was an intelligent, kind-hearted man that made me feel at ease and that genuinely wanted to help us. He made the whole process painless and made me feel like there was hope in getting out from under. Richard returned my calls promptly and also e-mails. Our last account was recently paid off, what a great feeling. We thank you very much for all your help you have provided us. Once we started your program all calls from creditors stopped. What a relief knowing all of our bills were paid each month by you and no late payments were made, and we only made one payment to you. When we started with your company we were delinquent with a couple of accounts, and with your help were able to stop further legal action. Again thank you for all your help. Cordially, Mr & Mrs Peterson 3rd May, 2010 YOU ROCK!!! When first contacting you in March of 2009, we were facing (almost) certain foreclosure (the new “f” word) from our home of thirteen years. At that time, we were “down to the wire”, due to the fact that Countrywide, our mortgage holder, had neglected to mention this to us. We had, additionally, been working with the St. Petersburg Neighborhood Housing Services (talk about useless!). On Tuesday, March 24th, 2009, a gentleman came to our door to request permission to view the property, as it had been listed as a foreclosure sale item on Saturday, March 28th, 2009. Upon contacting our Rep. at the St. Petersburg Neighborhood Housing Services, his emailed reply was “At this time, I would inform you to find alternative housing. It appears that you have run out of time. Let me know if I can answer any other questions. I am sorry to inform you.” My only (polite) question I could muster was “when had you planned on telling me?” My thought is researching the word REP-tile and finding a photograph of him. Dealing with Countrywide (now known as BAC Homeloans) has been arduous –– a series of ups, downs and downs, but, largely due to your recommendations/advice, we finally have a repayment schedule suitable for both parties. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! We are unable to thank you enough and have been singing your praises to anyone who will listen (and a few who will not). Preferring (as we often do) face-to-face meetings, the thought of working with someone “way over there”, was (a tad) disturbing, but you soon put our fears to rest.
